Gone

This ship hung in space, light from the local star glinting off the shinier surfaces.

It looked well worn, some pitting and pock marks on the hull, a scratch here, a gouge there. Some with scoring or burns. Was it older or new? It was certainly an older model of ship, but it was one that was still being manufactured. The design was just that versatile, and demand was good. The ship began to turn, a flare from the engine nacelles brought it to life. It moved forward quickly, hurrying, and in a brilliant flash of light, it was gone.
